Huge win for Brazil's Gustavo "PIUlimeira" Ferreira
Gustavo "PIUlimeira" Ferreira had come close to major PokerStars titles in the past, finishing within sight of the win during past SCOOPs, WCOOPs, and last year's Winter Series. Yesterday the dream became reality when Ferreira topped Turbo Series Event #78, $1,050 NL Hold'em Progressive KO.
Ferreira cut a deal heads-up with Lithuania's Kobasteris before moving on to collect $46K for the win. Add that to another $55K in bounties -- nearly four times that of any other player in the tournament -- and Ferreira earned more than $100,000. What a day for the Brazilian!
Satellite winners timektimek88, slimons come up big
Two of yesterday's event winners earned a massive return on their initial investments.
Poland's timektimek88 won Event #75 for more than $20K in prize money and bounties. That was after earning entry through a $1.85 satellite, the third best ROI of any player in this Turbo Series so far. And Norway's slimons, a satellite winner for just $7.50, won Event #77 for just over $29K.
